managedCuda and cuDNN

Hi,

any plans to wrap around cuDNN too?

maybe, if it will become a member of the cuda toolkit like cufft or NPP. Currently it is only available for registered developers, why the work for a wrapper won't reach many people. One possibility might be a separate project that merges with managedCuda depending on how Nvidia continues with cuDNN...
We'll see, it's definitely a very interesting library worth to be used in the managed world.

Michael, I'm not positive but I think you can just fill out the form at https://developer.nvidia.com/programs/cuda/register. (If not already done so) Thanks. Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I'm already a registered developer for a very long time (I can remember there was an "old login" and a "new login", depending on what you wanted to do ;-)). My point was, that managedCuda is a very small project with maybe 100 to 200 active users. If you then leave out all of those who aren't registered at Nvidia, there are not many left that could profit from cuDNN within managedCUDA... and since my time is limited, cuDNN is not top priority right now. We will see... My guess is, that cuDNN will be part of CUDA 7 and then it will of course be part of the next managedCuda release. And if I find the time, maybe also before CUDA 7.

Cheers,
Michael

Hi Michael, I misread your message. That makes perfect sense.
Thank you for all the work that you do by sharing and updating managedCuda. I and I'm sure many others appreciate the time you put in to this.
Bests.

A first preview of cuDNN in managedCuda is now available in the repository together with Cuda 7.0 RC. (It's currently an independent VisualStudio-project not part of the managedCuda.sln)

Cheers
